Force floats procurement opportunity

Derbyshire Constabulary is seeking a long-term supplier partner to deliver a comprehensive range of IT products and services.

The force has published a contract notice seeking a company that can deliver “the provision of IT hardware, software and associated consumables”. Derbyshire wishes to enter into a six-year agreement with the chosen provider, with a contract scheduled to run from 1 December 2020 to 30 November 2026.

The deal will be worth between £5m and £15m over the lifespan of the contract, the force estimated.

Bids for the project are open until 15 October and the contract notice stipulates that the opportunity is suitable for SME bidders.

Data from the government’s Contracts Finder website shows that recent tech investments made by the force include almost £300,000 on a one-year contract with specialist firm Chainalysis to provide a “cryptocurrency analytics and tracing tool”.

Derbyshire also recently issued an invitation to tender for a replacement HR system, with support for its current platform due to end in about 18 months’ time. The constabulary has set aside a budget of about £350,000 and is seeking to appoint a supplier to a five-year contract.
