Tara Donnelly of Health Innovation Network to step into CDO role

The chief digital officer of NHS England Juliet Bauer is to join video GP provider Livi.
Bauer is to join the company in April in a “global product role”. Livi, which was founded in Sweden in 2015, launched in the UK in October. It currently works with one GP federation – NICS, a collective of almost 40 practices in north-west Surrey. Livi’s website claims that the firm has “many more partnerships in development” in this country.
Bauer joins the company after two and a half years as the NHS’s digital leader. Her career prior to joining the health service included long stints in the media publishing industry, with past employers including Emap and News International.

“I am delighted to be joining LIVI at such an exciting time for digital health,” she said. “Technology has the power to deliver a step-change in clinical care and patient experience. I am looking forward to helping LIVI expand their outstanding service to deliver on the NHS’ long term plan, as well as supporting their growth globally.”
Bauer added on Twitter that she is “really delighted to hand the baton” to Tara Donnelly – who will be joining the NHS from her current role as chief executive of the Health Innovation Network, a body that works to “connect NHS and academic organisations, local authorities, the third sector and industry”, according to its website.
Donnelly tweeted to say that she is “looking forward to joining the team at NHS England working on digital, following amazing work by Juliet and her team”.
